The Marlboro Church’s weekly worship services lots of opportunity to participate through children’s messages, singing, choir, sharing of praises and prayer concerns, and our weekly fellowship time when we spend a few minutes during our service to shake hands and greet each other. Traditional hymns and modern praise songs are a regular part of our service.
Our Pastor and our many mature believers help to guide us in our desires to serve God and be a Christ-like organization with a mission to serve our community.
History
The Marlboro Seventh Day Baptist Church had its beginning just over 200 years ago when several members of the Shiloh SDB Church decided that the ride to Shiloh (only about 5 minutes by car) was a long distance to travel each Sabbath by horse and buggy. With the Shiloh Church’s blessing, on March 25, 1811, the Marlboro SDB Church met for the first time with 26 members. By 1857 there were 135 members. Three years later the present sanctuary was dedicated.
During the last two centuries many changes have taken place to our building and to our congregation. Our most important focus, however, is and always has been the people — the people of our congregation and our community. We feel a strong desire to serve others and are striving to follow God’s leading.
Today
Marlboro includes a mix of ages and backgrounds. Many of our members are from the community around Marlboro, several others regularly travel from farther distances with a few regular attendees coming from nearby states to attend. With all of our variety, we have one thing in common: We enjoy worshiping, spending time together, and learning about God through studying the Bible.
All who wish to learn more about God and his will for his people are always welcome to come worship, fellowship, and learn with us.
