MARLBORO SEVENTH DAY BAPTIST CHURCH
December 16, 2017

MEDITATION

Somehow, not only for Christmas but all the long year through, The joy
that you give to others Is the joy that comes back to you. And the more
you spend in blessing The poor and lonely and sad, The more of your
heart’s possessing Returns to you glad.
John Greenleaf Whittier

ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Christmas Party is coming this next week! Let’s work together
to make it a wonderful event and promote AWANA to our community!
Sunday, Dec. 17 at 9am – final decor, set up and party prep
Wednesday, Dec. 20 from 6pm-8pm – PARTY TIME!
(If you can help out that night, please plan on meeting around 5pm.)

This year we are planning again to give gift cards to those in need.
If you would like to make a contribution to this cause please do so
as soon as possible, (today even) so they can be purchased and
distributed before Christmas.

If the past is any indicator, we can expect a big crowd for the Christmas
Party. If you can help, there is a sign up sheet in the vestibule with a
list of food items that are needed for the party.

A lady we met the other day is collecting blankets to hand out to the
homeless. If you have some blankets you no longer use and would like to
donate them to the cause, please drop them off at the church and I will see
that she gets them. Size, age or condition does not matter.

A group is planning to go Christmas Caroling Sunday, Dec 24. We will meet
at the church and plan to leave for our first stop by 3pm. If you plan to
come with us or if you would like us to visit someone, please let Tom know
by Dec 23 so plans can be made. Thanks!

Thank you for your interest in helping those in Dominica. Dr. Agard is the
founder of Hands International who is heading up this project there. A local
contact is Andrea (from Shiloh church) who works with Dr. Agard. She and Dr.
Agard are a part of the Delaware Medical Response Team who travels to Dominica.
There they distribute the items collected that were put into shipping cargo
containers and sent down. This is a long term project. Items can be dropped
off at the church or if you have a large donation, please contact Joanna or
Yvonne. We can make alternate arrangements to get it to the local shipping
container that is getting packed and readied for the next shipment.
